Once bitten twice blinded

Oh blindness, help me see
beyond this whiteness,
even if it's a sea of milk,
or a chest of diamonds,
this blazing brightness, so wide
across the horizon?

Imagination, lead my eyes
into this blackness,
Is it just a heart with a hole
or charred lumps of coal,
this deadly darkness all around
the nothingness inside?
